This play, The [sic] Tale of Two Cities; Or the Incarcerated Victim of the Bastille, an Historical Drama in a Prologue and Four Acts, was adapted from Charles Dickensís story by Fox Cooper.  It was first performed at the Victoria Theatre on July 7th, 1860.  This dramatic version of the novel has an unlikely ending, in which Sydney Carton is miraculously saved from the guillotine in the final act.
