Sheet music entitled Peggotty the Wanderer, A ballad from David Copperfield Addressed to Emily.  In Dickens’s novel, Little Emily is Daniel Peggotty’s adopted niece.  She is seduced by David Copperfield’s erstwhile friend Steerforth, who abandons her.  Emily, not wanting to bring disgrace upon Peggotty, runs away.  Peggotty after a long search finds Emily and they emigrate to Australia.  Peggotty says “No one can’t reproach my darlin’ in Australia.  We will begin a new life over there.”
