An image from a movie poster advertising A Christmas Carol, the Renown Pictures presentation released through United Artists in 1951.  The screenplay was written by Noel Langley, and the film was produced and directed by Brian Desmond Hurst.  The film starred Alastair Sim as Scrooge.  Sim played a variety of roles on stage and in film productions, ranging from comedies to “who-done-its.”  Also in the cast was Kathleen Harrison, who had played other Dickensian roles in Oliver Twist (1948) and Pickwick Papers (1952).
