John Carradine (Scrooge) was cast in many films, including Stagecoach, Grapes of Wrath, and The Three Musketeers.  He formed his own repertory theater, acting as producer-director at the Geary Theater in San Francisco, where he played Hamlet, Shylock and Othello.  Robert Merrill (Fred Cratchit) was a star baritone of the Metropolitan Opera.  Merrill also made many recordings for RCA Columbia, Angel, and London Records.  He is probably best remembered for his role as Tevya in Fiddler on the Roof.  Frank Guarrera (Ghost of Jacob Marley) has performed with the Metropolitan Opera and at La Scala in Milan.  Barbara Williams (Belle, Scrooge’s boyhood sweetheart) has performed in The King and I, Carousel, and My Fair Lady.  Terrance Monk (young Scrooge) has had roles in many musicals, including My Fair Lady, Can-Can, Blossom Time and The Student Prince.
